America’s Got Talent and Nick Cannon Nab Critics’ Choice Award Nominations

The Critics’ Choice Awards TV nominations for 2016 were announced on Monday. Check out the full list of nominees below!

As Gossip Cop has reported, the Critics’ Choice Awards used to hold separate ceremonies for television and film. Beginning earlier this year, however, they were combined into one event. Still, the nominations for the upcoming awards show are being delivered in two parts, with the TV categories getting unveiled first.

Leading the pack is “The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story,” which has scored six nominations. Right behind is “Game of Thrones,” which garnered five nods, as did “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.” That includes being nominated for Best Drama Series and Best Comedy Series, respectively.

The other shows in the top drama category are “Better Call Saul,” “Game of Thrones,” “Mr. Robot,” “Stranger Things,” “The Crown,” “This Is Us,” and “Westworld.” The comedy contenders also include “Atlanta,” “Black-ish,” “Fleabag,” “Modern Family,” “Silicon Valley,” “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt,” and “Veep.” Winners are chosen by the Broadcast Television Journalists Association.

T.J. Miller will host for the second time, with the live broadcast airing on A&E on December 11. And for any readers confused: The Critics’ Choice Awards held its 21st annual ceremony back in January of this year, and it was ostensibly the 2016 show. That is until the 22nd event was moved up to December, making it the 2016 show… again. Check out the full list of the new nominations below.
