His condition has stabilized and he’s now stepping out in support of the National Kidney Foundation’s Kidney Walk to spread the word about kidneys and kidney disease.

On Sunday, October 14, 2012, Nick Cannon hosted and helped kick off the Kidney Walk in New York City at South Street Seaport, a 5K event that attracted 7,000 walkers who helped raise awareness and funds to support the fight against kidney disease. The National Kidney Foundation is dedicated to the prevention of kidney disease, improving the health and well-being of patients and families affected by this disease and increasing the availability of all organs for transplantation.

On Saturday, October 6, 2012, Nick Cannon hosted the First Annual ‘Family Day’ at the Santa Monica Pier. The event is an opportunity for family members, relatives, and community to gather together for games, prizes, rides, and some surprise entertainment. Nick’s wife Mariah Carey and twins Monroe and Moroccan were also on hand for the festive event enjoying rides and cotton candy.

There were also performances by NCredible artists: The New Boyz, Forever, The Ranger$, Gabi Wilson, the Wonder Broz and 4count! The First 500 students received a free book bag with free school supplies in them and was handed to them by celebrities!
