RadioOne ‘Ferguson Relief’ Hosted By Nick Raises Thousands

Yesterday Nick spent Martin Luther King Day, in the city of Ferguson, MO where he hosted alongside actor Malik Yoba RADIO ONE’s HOT 104.1 and it’s sister station OLD SCHOOL 95.5 “FERGUSON RELIEF RADIO-THON”.

The purpose was to help raise funds for businesses damaged in the aftermath due to the shooting death of MICHAEL BROWN and the subsequent GRAND JURY decision not to indict Police Officer DARREN WILSON.

Operating Manager of Hot 104.1 BOOGIE D had this to say regarding the fundraiser, “We raised $19,500. It was a great way for us in ST. LOUIS to spend the MLK Holiday by doing our part to help bring back FERGUSON MISSOURI fully.” VP/GM GARY GUNTER said, “Part of our mission statement as a company is that we strive to serve our community, not only with entertainment but also with information and inspiration. A lot of what you saw on TV is not what FERGUSON is All about. I just hope that they can get back on track and get past this.”

Radio-THON proceeds will be donated directly to the REINVEST NORTH COUNTY FUND, whose two-fold mission is to provide immediate relief to small businesses impacted and provide school districts with appropriate resources, particularly in times of stress.

The special broadcast was done in conjunction with THE ST. LOUIS REGIONAL BUSINESS COUNCIL.
