America’s Got Talent Brings Ratings Win to NBC

With NBC‘s Stanley Cup Final coverage and “America’s Got Talent” claiming two of the week’s top four adult 18-49 ratings among primetime shows on the Big 4 networks, NBC has tied for #2 for the week of June 15-21 in adults 18-49. According to “live plus same day” viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research, NBC averaged a 1.2 rating, 5 share in adults 18-49 and 4.5 million viewers overall for the week.

Joining NHL Stanley Cup coverage and “America’s Got Talent” in the week’s top 15 primetime shows on the Big 4 nets were “American Ninja Warrior,” “Dateline NBC” and “I Can Do That.”

Monday’s sixth and deciding game of the Stanley Cup Final ranked #2 on the Big 4 last week in adults 18-49 and Tuesday’s “America’s Got Talent” finished #4, while Wednesday’s “Ninja” encore, Thursday’s “Dateline” and Tuesday’s “I Can Do That” all tied for #12. Rankings exclude sports pre- and post-game shows.

Among Big 4 non-sports programs, “America’s Got Talent” ranked #1 for the week in total viewers, adults 25-54 and teens 12-17 and tied for #1 among non-sports shows in adults 18-34 and kids 2-11.

Tuesday

Tuesday’s “America’s Got Talent” (2.3/8 in 18-49, 10.2 million viewers overall from 8-10:01 p.m. ET)  broadcast equaled the highest 18-49 rating for any Big 4 non-sports telecast of the prior two weeks, since the June 2 edition of “Talent” (2.4). In total viewers, it was the top Big 4 entertainment telecast in the week since the June 9 “Talent” (10.4 million). “America’s Got Talent” was the #1 non-NBA telecast of the night on the Big 4 in 18-49, total viewers and other key measures.

“Live Plus Three Day” Ratings: “America’s Got Talent” grew by +25% in 18-49 rating going from “live plus same day” to “live plus three day” Nielsens (from a 2.30 rating to a 2.87) and by 1.9 million viewers overall (from 10.2 million to 12.1 million).

“Live Plus Seven Day” Ratings: “Talent” has grown by +34% in 18-49 rating going from “live plus same day” to “live plus seven day” rating (from a 2.53 to a 3.40) and 2.5 million viewers overall (11.0 million to 13.5 million) going from L+SD to L+7.

Friday’s  8-10p.m., encore airing of “America’s Got Talent” (0.7/3 in 18-49, 3.1 million viewers overall) tied for #2 among the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49. From its first hour to its second, the “Talent” encore grew by +33% in 18-49 rating (0.6 to 0.8) and +14% in total viewers (2.9 million to 3.3 million).

NBC’s other Nick-hosted show “Caught on Camera with Nick Cannon” was also part of the big ratings boost Saturday with  (0.5/2 in 18-49, 1.7 million viewers overall from 8-8:30 p.m. ET)  which grew versus its prior telecast on April 11 by +25% or 0.1 of a rating point in adults 18-49 (0.5 vs. 0.4). “Caught on Camera” ranked as the #1 non-sports show in the slot on the Big 4 in adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and all key adult-male demos.
